Yesterday saw the release of Boohoo's A/W 2012 lookbook of the looks that they will be channelling this season. It. Is. Fabulous. We've got "Mod Life", "Hyperculture", "Military Luxe", "Oriental", "Gothic", "Heritage", "Folklore", "Manhattan Lady", "Baroque and Roll" and "Jewel Print".
- Modlife: I see a distinctive 60's edge with houndstooth patterning and boldly coloured trench coats, this is definitely a perfect winter look.
- Hyperculture: Love. LOVE. So many patterns, so many pretty colours, harem pants matched with oversized jumpers, or leggings and tunics. Boohoo themselves say that this look "embodies elements from cultures and styles from all around the world".
- Military Luxe: Does what it says on the tin. Khaki, black, white, strong lines and shape, the perfect look for the tomboy who wants to look more feminine.
- Oriental: Panelled leggings, please. I can feel a lot of panelling and dresses for this look. So many possibilities with all the colours and different patterns that are available.
- Gothic: So...is black the new black? I'm not sure about this one, I know Versace used a lot of black velvet, but how many people can carry that off? I'm not sure. I'm looking forward to this one, sheer, maybe?
- Heritage: Country fresh. Johdpurs, plaid, Burberry meets Jack Wills I'm thinking. I hope to see a lot of shoe boots. I like shoe boots.
- Folklore: Another heavily pattern based theme, more floral. Wintery maxi dresses and block colour tights would be nice, and faux fur.
- Manhattan Lady: A lot of time for this one, pastel colours and pencil skirts. I'm predicting a very Chanel, Dior look here.
- Baroque and Roll: Wordplay, I get it. Black and gold are a heavenly match, I sense this interwining with "Gothic".
- Jewel Print: Hmm..I don't know, busy prints are hit and miss for me. I'll wait and see how this one pans out.
All in all very keen for this seasons clothing.
Thank you!
