Every now and again, online shopping has to happen...it happened on Friday night.  I love Boohoo and it had been ages since I'd done an order, I was on the hunt for an open day outfit as I've got a few this month.

Black swing dress - I really like swing dresses as fitted dresses tend not to suit me.  I'm wearing it right now ready to pop over to my friend Libby's for a quick bday celebration and then for a meal with my dad and sister, it's so comfortable and it drapes really well!  My only niggling issue is that it's a bit low at the back, but I think that's because I ordered a size up.

Lace net skirt - I was actually looking for lace shorts when I found this beauty.  IT is by no stretch the kin of thing I would usually choose but I really like it.  The netting gives it more structure than a skater or circle skirt which is perfect for me. I have brown ankle boots to wear with it to toughen it up slightly.

Blush pink blouse - I have been umm-ing and ahh-ing over shoulderless tops for ages now so I bit the bullet and went for it, it's really flattering and the material looks quite expensive! If you're broad go a size up.

Hey!  I'm off out tonight to a garden party hosted by the fabulous Morgan-Jones family.  It's a lovely sunny day in good old Wales so I decided to give my Zara skort it's first trip out.

I'm wearing it with my new favourite top, a cami vest from Topshop with a simple GAP cardigan and River Island sandals.  I've even straightened my hair which does not happen often!

And my gorgeous little sister in her Boohoo dress!  It feels so weird that she is buying clothes from the same shops as me and could potentially share clothes with my friends!

I hope everyone enjoys their last weekend before school!

Cropped tops are the perfect summer basic that can be dressed up and down, you can't walk into a shop these days without seeing at least one, I have handpicked five from across the web to style for all of you lovely people!

TOPSHOP
This is such a steal - half price!  When I said they can be dressed up or down this is the perfect example.  I see it teamed with Levi's style high waisted shorts and classic trainers for a day look, perhaps roaming a city?  Yet also with disco pants and skyscraper heels for a night out.  This top, works.

NEW LOOK
The.  Cutest.  Thing.  This is adorable, the back is so sweet, definitely team with a pastel coloured skater skirt and dolly shoes or pretty sandals.  The only difficulty is that if you swear by denim then I would not recommend this particular top. Double denim didn't do much for B*witched and I don't think it will do much for us.

MISSGUIDED
I adore the Missguided 'Bardot' tops, such a flattering neckline - especially for broad girls like me.  For the super confident among you this can be teamed with hip skimming skinnies, otherwise much like the New Look top I'd pair it with a skater skirt, although perhaps something very bright would work! With court shoes and a  bright clutch for a night time look.

BOOHOO
Something a little more edgy now with this ladder back cropped top - definitely a look for discopants I would say, for those who don't like to show their stomachs this is great because it is somewhat longer than the others I have mentioned.  I see the white as being perfect as a beachy cover up!

ASOS
First off, this model kinda reminds me of Blake Lively, I'm not really sure why, I think I've watched too much Gossip Girl.  I really love this top for so many occasions, like the Boohoo one it would work as a coverup while it would also work with a bright bandeaux underneath a bodycon skirt.  For only £10 this might be my favourite one so far.

Which was your fave?

I'm writing today's OOTD whilst walking to pick my sister up from school - it's true, women can multitask. I'm also inadvertently tanning one side of my body..which isn't great. Anyway, who else is loving this weather? It's amazing, I'm so glad I've had this week off school and I'm definitely feeling sorry for those who've had exams.
I'm sporting a leotard top from Boohoo and shorts from Topshop. I always forget quite how old these shorts are, I had them for my 14th birthday, I'm 17 in two weeks.
I like the leotard because of the low back, I usually Iayer it but I thought I'd celebrate summer and leave it unlayered! What's everyone else wearing on this beautiful day?

  1. Yankee Candle Cool Pops - My friend Molly knows how much I love candles, especially Yankee candles so when she sent me a picture of these I immediately fell in love with them. If I buy one I will definitely buy the coconut one, I adore coconut - in fact as I type this I'm wearing coconut body butter and wishing we had more coconut in the fridge. I also love the little ice cream can holder. It's all way too cute.
  2. Marc Jacobs/Michael Kors Watch - I've always liked watches but I've never had much luck with them, my last one suffered a death after I started dancing in my kitchen and it flung off onto the slate floor, not my finest moment. These watches are just b-e-a-u-tiful but slightly extortionately priced. So I must admit I have bought a £12 replica off eBay, it's rose gold and beyond pretty.
  3. Mom Jeans - really, Ellie? I hear you say.  I'm not sure either, I was innocently browsing Topshop and I fell in love with a pair. I think they're my new item of clothing that I have to admire from a distance, next time I'm in Cardiff I am definitely trying a pair on. At least then I won't have been defeatist and I will have tried! May have to settle for dungarees, which I'm certain may suit me less.
  4. Rihanna Diamonds tour t-shirt - I'm going to see Rihanna next Monday and as I've seen her once at Madison Square Gardens I really want a British tour top to go with my American one.
  5. Bethany 'Brooklyn Beats' dress  - I do not know why I love it, I just know I love it. I don't feel like discussing this one as I'm not 100% sure if I should love it as much as I do. Help.

Dungarees are my love/hate item at the moment, on models and mannequins they look fantastic but I'm not convinced they would be up to much on me.  I thought I'd do a feature on them anyway! I've picked a varitaion of the classic dungaree from 5 stores, Miss Selfridge, Boohoo, Topshop, Missguided and New Look.

MISS SELFRIDGE
I really love the colour of this dress despite not being the world biggest lover of all things pink (she types while wearing neon pink nail varnish).  I think it would look really nice as a day dress with a white cap sleeve crop top underneath, especially in the sun as it's bearing a bit of skin but still staying modest.  Also, the turtle neck style tops that are fashionable right now would look good.  I say white because the stitching in the pocket detail is white so picking it up again would be good, then white converses would finish it off perfectly!

BOOHOO
Full length dungarees tend to lean toward the 'hate' end of my dungaree spectrum but there's something about these Leonie Light Wash ones that I love - especially the idea of them being teamed with court shoes, anything to do with court shoes and I am sold! I'd say for tops, keep it light like the wash and match with shoes, the model is wearing white but I think peaches, corals and mints would work just as well. (P.S. enter OFFER15 at the checkout for 15% off!)

TOPSHOP
I feel somewhat bad for liking this as much as I do.  It's a bit of a cop out because it's technically a playsuit but it's denim with dungaree detail! This is only for those content with bearing a bit of flesh because I wouldn't recommend wearing a top underneath, although it looks structured I'm not sure if there is an inbuilt bra, if not you'll obviously need either a crossback bra or a converter.  I see this with pastel coloured brogues or flatforms.

MISSGUIDED
This is so nice, I literally cannot pick which colour is my favourite, the black is really versatile and an easy day to night look while the peach is just super pretty.  Both of them can easily be worn with heels or flats, the models are wearing them with heeled boots which is a lovely look.  As it's quite low slung I do like the looser crop top styled with.  I'd stick monochrome if you're going with the black and white if you're going peach.  (insert MGFREE at the checkour for free next day delivery if you order tonight!)

NEW LOOK
To finish - a classic, the dungaree.  We've all owned a pair in our lives I'm sure of it.  After looking at all of the variations I'm not sure if I'd buy one like this now.  If you're going to wear it up and over your shoulders then I'd wear a crop top as it sits on the hips, if ot then any top would be fine depending really on how much you dare to bare.

Are any of you planning on buying a pair?  How do you style yours?

HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY! To celebrate - here's my 17 favourite green pieces on line.

Disco pants are cool in any colour, and the ones at Missguided look like really good quality too, super shiny.

Spikes are still very much in fashion and due to all of this cold weather I suspect sweaters will be too for a long while to come.  Perfect with a shirt and skinnies for a day out shopping.

Missguided describe this dress from their exculsive range as 'not for the faint hearted' which it certainly isn't, what it is however, is amazing!
I have a soft spot for satchels and have a feeling a purchase of one is impending, perhaps not in neon green, but Missguided are looking good.
Perfect if you're thinking of purchasing the bag, might as well match your nails while you're there!

I'm in love.  In actual love.

I'm gutted I didn't realise these were petite because they are gorgeous! My sister has high waisted jeans that look awesome on her so I've been pining for a pair.

This might be the cutest ring I've ever seen, to any of my friends, it's 98 days until my birthday.  (hint) (totally not a hint) (H I N T)

I've developed a love for medium heel shoes, and due to my clown feet round toes are perfect, love the glittery heel too.

Since visiting my first Forever 21 in New York a few summers ago I've loved their jewellery  and since they started trading in the UK I've been obsessed!
Is this cheating?  It's not green, but apples are...so y'know.

Every girls needs at least one classic blazer, why not get a green one?

Love this sheer shirt, I imagine it being perfect with black disco pants or wet look leggings.

Another bag, this one maybe slightly easier to wear on a daily basis.  Really good size, looks like you'd fit all the essentials in!

These scallop edge vests are really flattering for most body types and come in a range of colours, super versatile.

Skater skirts have become a staple wardrobe item in the past seasons so this was a must.

I love these socks, I don't think I need to explain.

So, may you be blessed with the luck o' the Irish and have a lovely day!

I bought a grey maxi skirt from Boohoo a week ago and this is how I've worn it so far. The first look was to The Performance House where I teach - I wore a black vest, white cropped Lady Gaga top and and khaki scarf.

The next look was when we went out for my Dads birthday, a black vest, pink beaded crop top and a blue blazer!

This trend has been around for a while in the likes of American Apparel but is now hitting the mainsteam just in time for A/W.  Let's see what it bringing....

So here we've got the original disco pant from American Apparel, however at £74 they aren't exactly what we'd be willing to pay!  So of course I've found some more than suitable substitutes! On the left we have wonderful £10 version from Missguided and there are very similar ones in River Island that I recently purchased.  For a shinier version I'd go with these ones from Fashion Union, I think the colour on them is really lovely.

So if the trousers don't take your fancy, what about shorts or skirts?  On Boohoo there is a large range of clothing made from this disco material, I recently bought the Allie High Shine Disco Bodysuit, which is like a leotard with a dropped back, to wear with jeans or to layer with, it came today and I'm so happy with it!

My verdict? If it's disco you're after, Boohoo is your shop.

Thank you!
Ellie x
This season is already looking like it's going to be a cold one so trouser are going to be very much in!  But what ones?  There's so much choice, you've got simple leggings, patterned leggings all the way to hareem pants.  That's where I come in!  Read on for my guide to this season's trousers.

I'm going to start with these lovely trousers from online store Desire Clothing, which I think are really lovely and casual.  The ones that I have chosen are cropped stone coloured chinos with a belt, in the style of Rihanna.  I'd pair these with a blouse (such as the one Rihanna is wearing in the link).
I'd say dark but neutral colours would be best to complete this look, with brown brogues.  Also on Desire are these chinos which are similar but a rust colour instead, I like the look on the website with the denim sleeveless shirt - this could also work with the lighter colour.

These printed trousers from New Look are so pretty!  The pattern is not too garish or overpowering but at the same time they're a statement piece of clothing.  To be worn with a plain white or cream top, I'd go with a peter pan collar blouse.  If you're after patterned trousers these ones from Boohoo are gorgeous, palazzo pants are quite summery but I think could easily  be dressed with a thick knitted cardigan.  I love the way the model wears them with a disco body suit, I think it really smartens up the look, and at £10, how can you resist?

"Dress shabbily and they remember the dress.  Dress impeccably and they remember the woman" said the icon that is Coco Chanel, and how right she was.  I have scoured a few of my favourite shops to find my 3 favourite dresses of the season so far!

As you may know, I've just come back from France (where, I hasten to add - it was BOILING) and I have prepared a little diary of my outfits.

Hello, Boohoo A/W 2012 lookbook!
I know it's a little late, the ceremony being a few days a go now, but let's take a look at the best dressed!
I think it's definitely high time for a shoe post.
There is no denying that I am a "shoe person".  With size eight feet however, it's often incredibly difficult to find shoes the flatter my feet, or that fit, as they are narrow!

A recent hot trend that spread from high end to high street was skulls.
