Hey!  I'm off out tonight to a garden party hosted by the fabulous Morgan-Jones family.  It's a lovely sunny day in good old Wales so I decided to give my Zara skort it's first trip out.

I'm wearing it with my new favourite top, a cami vest from Topshop with a simple GAP cardigan and River Island sandals.  I've even straightened my hair which does not happen often!

And my gorgeous little sister in her Boohoo dress!  It feels so weird that she is buying clothes from the same shops as me and could potentially share clothes with my friends!

I hope everyone enjoys their last weekend before school!

Well hello people of the web! I do apologise for my lack of presence this week, I've been tutoring on Harry Potter Summer School, but more about that tomorrow.

Today, however I went to Cardiff with my pal Molly and spent out on make up and pretty clothes and spent the evening being a culture vulture watching a production of Hamlet with some friends of mine in with Sophie (who gets photo creds)

My top and skirt are both from Topshop, I would've definitely preferred to have worn flip flops but my toes are painted abysmally -shakes fist angrily-

I loved the play, I went in with little expectations as I have not always been the biggest Shakespeare fan, (I once watched a wonderful performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor on the side of a cliff in Cornwall which was great).  I enjoy the classics such as Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest and A Midsummer Nights Dream, I actually once played Francis Flute/Thisbe.  I loved the character of Ophelia and her madness, brilliant.  I also just love the name Ophelia.  Have any of you lovely readers seen a Shakespeare recently?

Cropped tops are the perfect summer basic that can be dressed up and down, you can't walk into a shop these days without seeing at least one, I have handpicked five from across the web to style for all of you lovely people!

TOPSHOP
This is such a steal - half price!  When I said they can be dressed up or down this is the perfect example.  I see it teamed with Levi's style high waisted shorts and classic trainers for a day look, perhaps roaming a city?  Yet also with disco pants and skyscraper heels for a night out.  This top, works.

NEW LOOK
The.  Cutest.  Thing.  This is adorable, the back is so sweet, definitely team with a pastel coloured skater skirt and dolly shoes or pretty sandals.  The only difficulty is that if you swear by denim then I would not recommend this particular top. Double denim didn't do much for B*witched and I don't think it will do much for us.

MISSGUIDED
I adore the Missguided 'Bardot' tops, such a flattering neckline - especially for broad girls like me.  For the super confident among you this can be teamed with hip skimming skinnies, otherwise much like the New Look top I'd pair it with a skater skirt, although perhaps something very bright would work! With court shoes and a  bright clutch for a night time look.

BOOHOO
Something a little more edgy now with this ladder back cropped top - definitely a look for discopants I would say, for those who don't like to show their stomachs this is great because it is somewhat longer than the others I have mentioned.  I see the white as being perfect as a beachy cover up!

ASOS
First off, this model kinda reminds me of Blake Lively, I'm not really sure why, I think I've watched too much Gossip Girl.  I really love this top for so many occasions, like the Boohoo one it would work as a coverup while it would also work with a bright bandeaux underneath a bodycon skirt.  For only £10 this might be my favourite one so far.

Which was your fave?

I'm writing today's OOTD whilst walking to pick my sister up from school - it's true, women can multitask. I'm also inadvertently tanning one side of my body..which isn't great. Anyway, who else is loving this weather? It's amazing, I'm so glad I've had this week off school and I'm definitely feeling sorry for those who've had exams.
I'm sporting a leotard top from Boohoo and shorts from Topshop. I always forget quite how old these shorts are, I had them for my 14th birthday, I'm 17 in two weeks.
I like the leotard because of the low back, I usually Iayer it but I thought I'd celebrate summer and leave it unlayered! What's everyone else wearing on this beautiful day?

I think wishlists are a really cute feature but I want to clear something up before I write one - this list is what I like at the moment, but a 'What I like list' doesn't sound all that great.  I'm hoping to make this a regular post so please let me know if you like it!

  1. A Claireabella Jute Bag - I know they are only simple but every time I see someone with a Claireabella bag I feel a pang of jealousy and want one myself.  Such a handy bag for the summer in so many ways, you can take it on a plane as hand luggage, take it to the beach, the pool, everywhere! While I was looking at the bags I also noticed they do phonecases which are absolutely amazing, I may have to invest in one/both after my birthday...
  2. Yellow Lemon Print Topshop Bikini - My aim for this year is to finally get a high waisted bikini and despite the (a little extortionate) £34 price tag I absolutely adore this one.  I'm thinking I'll find a cheaper alternative this year to test run when I go to Barcelona and see if I like it, then perhaps invest in another if it serves me well!
  3. Cat Eye Sunglasses - SO MUCH.  I literally adore cat eye sunglasses, and if someone could point me in the direction of some reasonably priced ones I will ever be in your debt, I have found some but I am never sure if they are up to much, help please!
  4. Essie Nail Polish - Just all of them, must I pick a favourite?  Blues and pinky/coraly colours are my favourite at the moment.  Also from Essie, I would love to try some of the strength and growth treatment polishes as the moment I apply fake nails, mine are not the same for weeks, so I am stuck in a loop of putting falsies on because I want them longer and not wanting to because they are short! Not good.
  5. Summer Shoes - Kinda gross, slightly over sharing, I only have nine toenails, I had an unfortunate few years with an ingrowing toenail, we will resist going into detail, what I am trying to say is that I do not particualrly like wearing open toed shoes because of the lack of nail situation, meaning I am struggling to find shoes.  Despite my open hatred of creepers I absolutely adore flatforms and am tempted to get closed toe flatforms from Boohoo, although I may settle for another pair of trainers.  Who knows.

First week back in school = eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeugh.

I'm kidding, I've actually had a really great week to be honest.  Monday morning my sister woke me up with a coffee and said 'coffee and a cuddle happy Monday!' which was possibly the best/cutest way to be woken up EVER never mind on a Monday.  Monday is also the one full five lesson day on my timetable, so I wasn't completely up for it.  I went in however as usual, had a form registration class, went to double textiles (I AM NOW COMPLETELY DONE CLICK HERE TO SEE MY CORSET) and made a half hearted attempt at putting the button holes in my shirts, I ended up unpicking it and returning on Tuesday.  Then went to media studies and then double RS which turned out to be a mock exam on Judaism.  Wasn't that fun.  BUT during lunchtime I attended a meeting for all those who applied for the role of Head Boy/Girl and got told that from the nine girls who applied I was one of the six who'd be chosen to do a speech on Friday to my year group about why I should be Head Girl.  Much excitement.  Then we were back in dance which was fab and as funny as it always is - especially now that Sophie has joined, despite her adamant complaints that she couldn't dance and didn't have rhythm she fitted in well.

The middle of the week was a bit of an excited blur as I was so excited to do my speech on Friday - my old textiles teacher returned from maternity leave so I was super excited to see her, both her and baby Bella are doing well! The downside of school at the moment is that basically all we're doing is past paper questions and essays and revision so we aren't really doing much learning, just putting what we have learnt into practise.

Friday came and I woke up nervous, went to school nervous, went to form nervous, went to the hall nervous, walked on stage nervous, and then said my speech.  I've been told the start of my speech was a little...not angry..but....let's go with fierce...PASSIONATE! Ooops, maybe I was a little scary, but after a few people told me they'd voted for me I guessed my scare tactics had worked.   Hopefully we'll find out tomorrow who's gotten through to interviews with senior staff which is all very exciting!

Yesterday we continued on with casting Beauty and the Beast which is going really well, and it's very difficult to call who's getting what! Then I went to Rhodri's 18th Birthday (where I got to wear my outfit from my vlog HERE) with Morgan, Molly and a few others from The Performance House and beyond which was a really lovely evening - thanks Rhod!

Today I've been to Wedding Fayre (no, there isn't something I'm not telling you I promise, it was for research purposes I swear!) Where I got asked 'When's the big day?' 'Do you have cars yet?' and my personal favourite was when I explained I'm doing research for school - 'Where do you teach?' face to the palm.

HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY! To celebrate - here's my 17 favourite green pieces on line.

Disco pants are cool in any colour, and the ones at Missguided look like really good quality too, super shiny.

Spikes are still very much in fashion and due to all of this cold weather I suspect sweaters will be too for a long while to come.  Perfect with a shirt and skinnies for a day out shopping.

Missguided describe this dress from their exculsive range as 'not for the faint hearted' which it certainly isn't, what it is however, is amazing!
I have a soft spot for satchels and have a feeling a purchase of one is impending, perhaps not in neon green, but Missguided are looking good.
Perfect if you're thinking of purchasing the bag, might as well match your nails while you're there!

I'm in love.  In actual love.

I'm gutted I didn't realise these were petite because they are gorgeous! My sister has high waisted jeans that look awesome on her so I've been pining for a pair.

This might be the cutest ring I've ever seen, to any of my friends, it's 98 days until my birthday.  (hint) (totally not a hint) (H I N T)

I've developed a love for medium heel shoes, and due to my clown feet round toes are perfect, love the glittery heel too.

Since visiting my first Forever 21 in New York a few summers ago I've loved their jewellery  and since they started trading in the UK I've been obsessed!
Is this cheating?  It's not green, but apples are...so y'know.

Every girls needs at least one classic blazer, why not get a green one?

Love this sheer shirt, I imagine it being perfect with black disco pants or wet look leggings.

Another bag, this one maybe slightly easier to wear on a daily basis.  Really good size, looks like you'd fit all the essentials in!

These scallop edge vests are really flattering for most body types and come in a range of colours, super versatile.

Skater skirts have become a staple wardrobe item in the past seasons so this was a must.

I love these socks, I don't think I need to explain.

So, may you be blessed with the luck o' the Irish and have a lovely day!

so today I'm off to Cardiff to watch the Wales v Australia match! I may not have my rugby-chic down yet but this is what I'm wearing. I've gone with my leather jacket (New Look), cross pattern leggings (Topshop), knitted jumper (also Topshop) and converse! And of course my big knit scarf as its so chilly! Lets hope we win!

Thank you!

OOTD= outfit of the day! This was mine. I was going around my friends for the evening, so I was obviously going pretty casual. I'm wearing a Bralet (the same one featured in my first post) under a fairly see through black blouse. The blouse is from Primark and the bralet is from River Island. I want to get as much wear out of both before the colder weather. Then on the bottom I wore Topshop shorts with leggings, usually I'd wear tights but I'm all out. I liked this outfit because it was comfortable, casual and easy.

Thank you!

So, since Call Me, Maybe hit the airwaves (with a little help from a certain spoof video by Jelena, Ashley Tisdale and co) Carly Rae Jepsen has been flung into the spotlight quicker than you can say "is that really her only song?" and oh yes, she's done it in style.
I wrote about Jepsen previously here when she attended the Teen Choice Awards, she looked a m a zing!  I thought the time had definately come where she deserved a post of her own.  She's got a face to rival a porcelain doll, the voice of a pop star and the personality of any girl next door.  Jepsen is like the Disney star that never made it past the callback.

STEAL THIS
This is one my favourite looks by Jepsen, and it's a high street one! This gorgeous dress from Topshop (it's on sale - hurry!) looks really lovely on her, and now you've got the link, what are waiting for?!
COPY THIS
Really simple look here from Jepsen, worn while she films her next music video in Manhattan.  Incredibly easy to copy, too.
These shorts from Etsy (post to come on Etsy)
This shirt from River Island.  To complete the look a trip to Primark will find you a belt, vest and plenty of jewellery on a purse friendly budget.

WANT THIS
Now, I don't know about you, but I love Co-Ords.  Topshop have some stunning ones in at the moment, especially those from guest designer Ashish (who provided a lot of my inspiration in GCSE textiles).  This is of course, Carly Rae Jepsen at the Teen Choice awards.

Have we decided that Carly Rae Jepsen is one stylish lady?  We have.

Thank you!

One thing that I've noticed a lot recently is the daring outfits of the likes of relatively new kids on the block, Stooshe and Little Mix, compared to the seemingly safe looks of, for example, The Saturdays.  Don't get me wrong I think that The Saturday have a lovely look going on, but is it time to get the claws out and match up tot he new girls, or is girls next door their thing?
A trend that I noticed a few years back (in Topshop predominantly) was Skater dresses/skirts. Today, I finally got around to buying one. I went for a £6 black skater skirt in Primark, although I've seen them in anywhere from River Island to Missguided.

I'm going to team mine with a cream, lace Peter Pan collar top and thin red belt. I think the skirts are very versatile because they can be worn with band t-shirts (see previous articles) and Vans/Converse or Bralet and heels for a more party-esque look.

Thank you!

Another style file today! My first victim  subject is Sophie Hulmes.
I'm going to try something different.  I'm going to begin a feature called "Style File" in which I take a photo of someone (could be anyone, anywhere, at anytime) and with a series of questions, I document their style.  I'll start with myself.

A recent hot trend that spread from high end to high street was skulls.
Today Taylor Swift was announced as Forbes top earner in their 30 under 30, beating off the likes of Adele, R-Patz, Rihanna and Justin Beiber. As a celebration of this prestigious title I thought it appropriate to pay homage to her style!
Happy Monday!
So, today I bought my second ever playsuit.
