Paris Fashion Week.

Last week saw Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week hit the Carrousel du Lourve with a bang as designers from Karl Lagerfeld to fashion house Valentino gracing the stage with their autumn/winter 2012 lines.

Lagerfeld described his Chanel collection as "new vintage".  Does anyone else see that? I know I do, the shapes are somewhat Jackie Kennedy-esque, bringing the 60s back to the runway in only the best way.  I see a distinct British edge in the clothing, something about the collection makes me think of "made in dagenham", I can't say that that is a bad thing, I love vintage Brit fashion.  Now, the high street alternative, Topshop are known for there quick adaptations of runway looks and they haven't let them self down.  Their new "Factory Girl" lookbook oozes 60s style.  More tweed, knit and court shoes than you could dream of.  I for one, am very excited to see the rest of Topshops autumn/winter collection.

Next, Christain Dior, with an audience consisting of two Versaces, Anna Wintour and Marc Jacobs it was obvious this show would impress.  I like this line a lot.  I  think my favourite piece is the one the middle of the collage to the left, there is something very striking about having a dress and trousers, for the lady who can never decide between a trouser suit and a ballgown (personally, i'd go for the ball gown.  every time).  The dress is also similar to the aforementioned trend of mullet hems, from behind it appears to be a dress while face on it evedentily is not.  The trend of tweed and 60s chic has carried through to Dior as we can see in the first picture.

Of course, these are only two of the dozens of shows held in Paris last week, I only wanted to provide a taster, visit http://parisfashionweeklive.com/!

Thank you!
