Cropped tops are the perfect summer basic that can be dressed up and down, you can't walk into a shop these days without seeing at least one, I have handpicked five from across the web to style for all of you lovely people!
TOPSHOP
This is such a steal - half price! When I said they can be dressed up or down this is the perfect example. I see it teamed with Levi's style high waisted shorts and classic trainers for a day look, perhaps roaming a city? Yet also with disco pants and skyscraper heels for a night out. This top, works.
NEW LOOK
The. Cutest. Thing. This is adorable, the back is so sweet, definitely team with a pastel coloured skater skirt and dolly shoes or pretty sandals. The only difficulty is that if you swear by denim then I would not recommend this particular top. Double denim didn't do much for B*witched and I don't think it will do much for us.
MISSGUIDED
I adore the Missguided 'Bardot' tops, such a flattering neckline - especially for broad girls like me. For the super confident among you this can be teamed with hip skimming skinnies, otherwise much like the New Look top I'd pair it with a skater skirt, although perhaps something very bright would work! With court shoes and a bright clutch for a night time look.
BOOHOO
Something a little more edgy now with this ladder back cropped top - definitely a look for discopants I would say, for those who don't like to show their stomachs this is great because it is somewhat longer than the others I have mentioned. I see the white as being perfect as a beachy cover up!
ASOS
First off, this model kinda reminds me of Blake Lively, I'm not really sure why, I think I've watched too much Gossip Girl. I really love this top for so many occasions, like the Boohoo one it would work as a coverup while it would also work with a bright bandeaux underneath a bodycon skirt. For only £10 this might be my favourite one so far.
Which was your fave?

- Maybelline Baby Lips - so these have taken the USA by storm and finally have made their way across the pond to us in the UK. It is said that they change your lips within a week, making them softer, plumper and tinting them at the same time. I think I'll go for the mint fresh.
- ASOS Happiness flatforms - I mentioned flatforms back in my May Wishlist admitting my hatred for loving flatform shoes and since then I realised that I really like these ones, I feel like I should apologise to creepers for this, sorry. They are just ideal summer shoes!
- The Devil/Revenge Wears Prada - I absolutely adored the film, and as bizarre and cliché as it sounds I think parts of the film inspired me to want to go into fashion (the glamorous parts, of course) but never got around to reading it. When I saw a sequel had been released I realised that somewhere between four days in London and 10 in Barcelona they could make exquisite summer reading.
- My Head is an Animal/Of Monsters and Men - I've loved Of Monsters and Men for a while and although I have been listening to them on Spotify there just isn't anything better than having a hard copy of an album. If you are yet to listen to OM&M then if you do one thing after reading this post - listen to Little Talks.
- Pink Lemonade Flamingo Candle - Do my eyes deceive me or have Chelsea Doll started selling candles? Marvellous.
I miss prom. Still, almost a year on. If you're some of the lucky ones with a prom this year, I envy you! I understand not all schools hold proms for Year 11s but luckily for us - mine did.
I didn't choose a dress until way later than I had hoped to, if my memory serves me well it was just before Whitsun last year - my prom was June 29th.
This was my dress - I found it at a local shop specializing in occasion dresses, it is absolutely nothing like the 'bright blue definitely not long maybe mullet hem but not long' dress I'd always claimed I would get but without sounding TOO cheesy, I tried it on and absolutely fell in love with it completely. My jewellery was really simple, I had a bracelet that was decorated with crystals with a interlocking pattern, a necklace which was like a little glass perfume bottle and earring complimenting my bracelet - all of which were from Accessorise I believe. My bag was grey crocodile print with a knuckle duster style handle, I cannot for the life of me remember where it was from but I want to say Boohoo/Missguided. I had a spray tan and eye lashes a few days beforehand, and my hair cut and dried so it was wavy, then I put it on the side and pinned it how I wanted it, and nails painted (French polish) on the day. I don't have any photos with my shoes in bt they were white slingbacks absolutely covered in diamanté and they were stunning!
Myself and Morgan who brought about 7 ties with him to see which matched my dress best, aw.
My gorgeous friends looking so smart!
Alys, Rachael, Iszzy, Emilie, Libby, Sophie, myself, Dayna and Charlotte (L-R)
Charlotte, Sophie, myself and Dayna. Charlotte, Sophie and Dayna actually managed to find their dresses online.
A rather long shot of all of us before heading to the school
Libby (who provided her home as our pre-prom place) and I
Am I getting carried away with all this reminiscing? Lydia and I.
Kerstin and I
A natural one of myself and Emilie laughing! (I'd like to point out someone is standing behind me and my shoulder doesn't jut out that much, it took me a while to figure out)
If you have a prom this year and are stuck for where to look for a dress/shoes take a look at the following links!

If you know of anywhere else please comment below and let me know, I'd love to check it out. Also - don't hesitate to post or e-mail (fashion-etcwithellie@live.co.uk) me your prom queries as I'd love to help.
now playing - enter shikari/stalemate - i would do anything for you/foster the people - wake me up/ed sheeran - 22/taylor swift
So, this is the first of three posts relating the Clothes Show Live that I attended yesterday. Today's post features some of the stylish people I spotted, tomorrow's will be my photos of the catwalks etc, and Friday's will be my haul (I didn't buy a lot). I though by putting all of the photos in one post it would become a little photo heavy.
Autumn is here! And what comes hand in hand with Autumn? Cold weather and a great excuse to wear hats, gloves and scarves. Do I head a "Where do I buy my hats, gloves and scaves, though?" I thought so. ASOS. All about ASOS. Here's my favourites under £20.
Let's start with hats.
This Faux Fur pom boyfriend beanie is so simple and easy to wear, it's perfect for the cold weather. If you're not a fan of the colour it's available in black and cream as well (I love the cream!). If you don't like the pom-pom itself there are other options of course, like the Chunky Mixed Knit Boyfriend Beanie, I love this one, I think the tartan edge is gorgeous. If hats altogether aren't your thing, then fear not because they aren't mine either. Meet the knitted headband. Oasis do one here in a variety of colours, although they are available in Primark as well.
Gloves, these ones caught my eye straight away, so cute and the gloves give a really sweet, girly edge! But I do think the ones pictured are my favourites, look at them! However, what annoys me and many others about gloves and mittens is that they don't get picked by touch screen phones. Palm warmers are perfect for those who need to use their phone a lot (or don't need to). The ones I linked to are so lovely, and for only £6 you can't say no!! I love the slogan on them. If they don't float your boat then these chunky fingerless gloves might, so nice!
I personally prefer scarves to snoods, just in practicality, but some of the snoods are so much nicer than scarves! Like this one to match the mittens above is so cute, I really love the pom poms (even if it is £40, oops!) Back to budget, I think that this snood is perfect for everyday wear, to school, or shopping etc. I like the scarf pictured so much, it would be so easy to wear! Very versatile. If versatile isn't your thing then you'll love this multi coloured knit scarf! There's even a hat to match.
Thank you!
